Tracy Ward marks Duke’s memorial
SINCE the Duke of Beaufort’s death last week, there has been much interest in the identity of the new chatelaine of Badminton House, Gloucestershire.
Would it be his son and heir the Marquess of Worcester’s wife, Tracy Ward, or his girlfriend, Georgia Powell?
It was Tracy who was prominent at the Duke’s service of thanksgiving at St Michael and All Angels Church, Badminton, yesterday, though she’s estranged from husband Harry. Tracy is now Duchess of Beaufort, but has said she won’t use the title.
Mourners heard Rose Farquhar, 33, Prince William’s first girlfriend before university, sing a moving rendition of Dame Vera Lynn’s We’ll Meet Again.
Rose’s father is Captain Ian Farquhar, joint Master of the Duke of Beaufort’s Hunt.
Listening to her sing was Prince Charles who, of course, knows a thing or two about the difficulties of wives and mistresses.
