Mandarin gets bank job

A TOP Treasury mandarin is joining a banking lobby group less than two years after leaving public office.

Lord Macpherson was permanent secretary to the Treasury, leaving in March last year. he will now be a non- executive director of UK Finance, a trade body for bankers and card companies, his role approved by the advisory committee on business appointments.
