30 super stylish looks from 13 key buys
A WORKING wardrobe is easier to compile than you might think. It doesn’t have to consist of the latest fashion items — as a managing director of an investment bank, I have pieces that are 15 years old and still look great. It’s more about looking polished and well put together.
These days, few offices require a traditional two-piece suit — you can mix and match smart dresses, skirts, trousers and jackets. But don’t just buy the same items in different colours. The only wardrobe essentials I repeat are shoes. My five key building blocks are a black, wellsuper
cut blazer (mine is from The Kooples), a versatile smart dress that works both for a meeting and a client dinner (I like Carolina Herrera and Moschino), a fitted pencil skirt, a white shirt, and a pair of pointy pumps.
Add a few other High Street pieces and you will have enough clothes to create different looks that work for weekdays and weekends — as demonstrated here.
