United to pay Russia visas

- JACK GAUGHAN

MANCHESTER UNITED will cover the cost of visas for fans travelling to see the Champions League clash with CSKA Moscow next month. Jose Mourinho’s side are in Russia on September 27 and supporters face a rush to get their visas in time. United have made that less of a headache by promising to pay charges of up to £118.20 for visas. The Russian Embassy now has an office in Manchester, so fans can easily process documentation. The club will reimburse the cost on production of a receipt. United are to upgrade security at their Aon training complex in Carrington to combat the ongoing terror threat. The club have applied for permission to install new gates, barriers and bollards to create a ring of steel around the training centre.
