HOW THE INTRUDER EXPOSED SECURITY BLUNDERS
LOW IRON GATES
A pair of low wrought iron gates border Battersea High Street. They have a mortise lock but are left open throughout the day.
ARCHED IRON GATES
A second set of arched wrought iron gates protect the glass doors to the school. These are also left open all day.
GLASS DOORS
Double reinforced glass doors are sealed with a magnetic lock. Teachers and parents can use a fob to gain entry or be ‘buzzed in’ by reception using the intercom on the central pillar
LOBBY
The area beyond the doors is covered by a single CCTV camera. A second set of wood and glass swing doors, which are not locked, lead into the school.
CCTV
The front of the school is covered by two CCTV cameras on a tall pole located to the right of the main doors.
POLICE
Prince George is guarded at all times by armed plainclothes officers from the Met’s Royalty and Specialist Protection Unit. They are believed to carry Glock 17 pistols plus Tasers.
