Whoops! RBS standards chief forgets to file her own accounts
A ROYAL Bank of Scotland execu- tive charged with ensuring the giant bank abides by the law is facing an embarrassment following an accounting bungle at her private business.
Aileen Taylor, 44, who as company secretary and chief governance officer plays a key role on the board of scandal-hit RBS, failed to ensure that annual accounts for the business she runs with her husband Derek have been filed for two years. Now she is set to be investigated for her role with Lanthanum Partners LLP whose first set of accounts is more than two years late. As governance officer, Taylor is expected to uphold highcorporate standards for RBS.
And it comes at a time when the bank faces police inquiries over allegations it ruined hundreds of healthy businesses to cash in on their assets. Two businessmen have lodged official complaints with Companies House about Taylor’s financial affairs.
Records show the two partners of Lanthanum are Mrs Taylor and her husband Derek, 45.
The first set of accounts was due by February 2015 and is still outstanding. RBS said: ‘Lanthanum is a shell partnership that is not engaged in any business. The failure to file accounts is an administrative oversight which is presently being rectified.’
