How to get the fashion crowd’s jetset lifestyle — without leaving your own home

- by Mandy Francis

SuPeRMoDeLS, designers and fashion editors spend their lives jetting between breathtaking fashion shows, glitzy parties and star-studded events in Paris, Milan, New York — and this week, London.

Staying in some of the most stylish hotels on the planet, they appear to live the sort of glamorous and cosseted existence that seems out of reach for most of us — or perhaps not.

Thanks to the rise in online hotel shopping sites, we can all enjoy a little five-star luxury now — for a fraction of what it would cost for a room in say, the Dorchester, or (brace yourselves) the £ 17,600- a- night suite at the excelsior Gallia Milan.

From the fluffy bathrobes worn at the Ritz in Paris, to the bone china cups from which supermodels sip their green tea at the Charlotte Street hotel in Central London, and the room spray that will make your home smell just like the hotel Costes in Paris — all can now be bought at a click of a button. . .

SOHO HOUSE CHIC

The by-word for laid-back cool, Soho house hotels launched sohohome.com last year, selling everything from its signature furniture to the calico print china featured in their Chicago hotel. The site also sells one-off vintage finds, luxurious linens — including its striped pool towels (£55, main picture) — and branded clothing. or get a taste of the Soho Farmhouse — the oxfordshire hotel whose guests include Samantha Cameron and models Rosie huntington-Whiteley and Georgia May Jagger — which offers its witty faux fur cow print wellies, £ 35 or posh waxed jacket, £185.

SET THE STANDARD

WheRe do celebrities and fashionistas stay during New York fashion week — or for the Met Gala Weekend? The achingly cool Standard high Line hotel, of course. With fashion-forward music stars such as kanye West, Lady Gaga and Madonna all spotted there, it’s no surprise the hotel sells a fabulous line in hip T- shirts, from just £ 18 via it’s online store. Its chevron Skate scarf, £25, would be a chic addition to your winter wardrobe too — all from standardhotels.myshopify.com.

PUTTIN’ ON THE RITZ

The Ritz hotel in Paris — where Coco Chanel lived for 35 years — has recently had a £ 150 million makeover and is now a magnet for celebrities and models including Cara Delevingne and Jennifer Aniston. Its online shop sells everything from bedside clocks to towels, tea, and the Ritz’s legendary peach bathrobes, £177. They were chosen by the founder of the hotel, Swiss hotelier Cesar Ritz, in the late 1890s, because he felt the colour flattered his female guests’ complexions. Look out too for the hotel’s chic ‘Puttin’ on the Ritz’ Collection silk scarf, £222, decorated with Irving Berlin’s musical score, and the stylish, gold embossed notecards, £51 ( ritzparisboutique.com).
