Yes, that IS a can of lager in the cockpit

- Daily Mail Reporter

A HOLIDAYMAKER was left stunned after he spotted a can of Stella Artois lager in the cockpit of a Jet2 flight.

Steve Lewis, says he spotted the can of lager sitting by the side of the pilot after the plane landed at Birmingham on Monday afternoon.

He took a photo and sent it to Jet2, but Mr Lewis, 59, claims he was told it was not one of the airline’s flights.

Mr Lewis, from Brackley, Northamptonshire, said: ‘After we had landed, that’s when I noticed the can.

‘I was so shocked, I couldn’t understand why there was alcohol in the cockpit... It even had a napkin underneath it which is how they serve drinks to passengers, so I’m a bit sceptical to whether it was there because someone had left it.’ After Mr Lewis returned he sent the airline the image but was stunned for them to allegedly deny it was even their aircraft.

Mr Lewis said: ‘An assistant got in contact with me and told me that the picture was not taken on a Jet2 flight. I felt like I was being accused of lying.

‘I explained to her that I could prove it was taken on the flight and she replied to say that the can had been given to the pilot for safe keeping.’

A spokesman for Jet2 said: ‘Upon further investigation of the photograph, we can confirm that it is an unopened can which had been handed to a member of our cabin crew by a customer when they were leaving the aircraft.’
