Travellers next door ‘steal Bruno’s water’

...and it’s the last straw as he puts £1m home on market

- By Neil Sears

BOXER Frank Bruno is trying to sell his house for more than £1 million after a series of disputes with travellers living next door.

On one occasion they drove a mobile home into his hedge, and laughed when the former heavyweight world champion asked them to repair it.

But the final straw is said to have been when Bruno’s water supply was tapped into while he was on holiday – leaving him with a hefty bill.

Unsurprisingly, the advertisements for the property near Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire make no mention of the ongoing dispute, a killing last year that happened just yards away from the property, or the fact that former neighbours include a traveller family jailed for keeping slaves.

Last night a spokesman for Bruno, 55, refused to comment, saying the matter was in the hands of lawyers.

Travellers recently posted a video online, showing one of them towing a mobile home behind a Selling up: Frank Bruno car before it careers into the hedge outside Bruno’s house, to hysterical laughter.

The video then shows Bruno at the travellers’ camp next door, asking the travellers to make good his damaged hedge. Bruno says: ‘I’m not disrespecting you. I’m trying to talk to you like a man – but I would just like it put back how it was before.’ The travellers laugh in response.
