THE co- founder of online fashion retailer Boohoo spooked investors with the sale of £10.7m in shares.

Carol Kane, 50, who is also co-chief executive of the firm she set up with Mahmud Kamani in 2006, offloaded 4.65m shares, valued at an average price of 230.1p each, on a day when the stock slumped 15.8p to 218p.

The mother of four, whose father was a builder, started out as a fashion designer before landing a job in 1993 with Pinstripe Clothing in Manchester, owned by the Kamani family – one of the richest in the country.
