Delivery firm’s Ikea lift

-

deal is also likely to feature an extension to the three-year distribution deal P&h has with Tesco. P&h SHARES in troubled courier DX Group jumped yesterday as traders toasted an agreement with Ikea.

It already runs deliveries for Ikea’s online business in two regions, plus its Reading store, and will now deliver goods for seven other stores.

DX says it will offer twoperson, same-day deliveries, handle advance bookings and provide a returns service for customers.

The deal makes DX’s work with Ikea worth £19m a year. Shares rose 21.2pc, or 1.52p, to 8.72p.

The stock crashed earlier this year following a profit warning. And the firm was also rocked by the collapse of a proposed £40m tie-up with logistics and airport services firm John Menzies.
