What’s a £160 parking ticket when you’re £54million in debt, Boris?

- By Ross Parker

WHEN you have debts of about £54million, a parking fine may feel like just one more drop in the ocean.

And it certainly looked that way for bankrupt Boris Becker, the three-time Wimbledon champion, who grimaced as he plucked this ticket from his windscreen.

Despite his financial woes, the 49-year- old had taken a risk by parking his new black Mercedes in a residents bay in central London – and could be facing a £160 bill.

The perilous state of Becker’s finances emerged in June when a court declared him bankrupt over a £3.3million debt. But it quickly became clear he was being chased for tens of millions more. The Ger- man is said to have amassed up to £100million during his career, but it dwindled after a costly divorce and a series of bad business deals.
