Catalonia to fight Spanish rule in court
CATALONIA’S political leaders have vowed to take Spain to international courts in order to stop Madrid taking over the region.
Spain’s senate is expected to approve the decision on Friday to sack Catalonia’s administration and impose direct rule. Madrid has also threatened to send in police and military forces if the region resists the decision.
But Catalan government spokesman Jordi Turull said yesterday: ‘We are going to respond in a very solid way.
‘We will exhaust all internal ways in order to turn to international justice if needed.’
