Inside trading claim
THE boss of the Chinese-backed firm taking over UK chipmaker Imagination Technologies has been accused of insider trading.
Charges against Benjamin Chow, of Canyon Bridge, relate to an attempt to buy US tech firm Lattice Semiconductor – a bid blocked by President Donald Trump for security reasons.
The claims – that Chow conspired to commit securities fraud by sending information to a friend – come days before a £550m takeover of Imagination which MPs and security experts want the Government to scrutinise more closely. Canyon Bridge last night said the claims would not affect its bid for Imagination.
