A RED MISSED AS OFFICIAL CAUGHT OUT BY KOMPANY’S EARLY ERROR
THIS image shows speedy Jamie Vardy beating Vincent Kompany to a loose ball, before he is fouled by City’s captain. It should have been a red card. It was an obvious goalscoring opportunity because, although John Stones is close, he is on the wrong side and behind Vardy. The Leicester City striker would have been clean away. It happened after two minutes and only referee Graham Scott will know why he chose a yellow rather than a red card as the incident ticked all the boxes. Perhaps the fact that it was so early threw the relatively inexperienced Premier League referee but that is no excuse.
