FREEVIEW MOVIE The Choir, 6.55pm, Film4 DUSTIN HOFFMAN stars as a tough choirmaster who gets the best out of his boys in this triumphover-adversity drama. Hoffman is joined by Eddie Izzard, Kathy Bates and Debra Winger to add acting clout to proceedings, while newcomer Garrett Wareing is the boy who makes the grade. FOOTBALL Chelsea v Atletico Madrid, 7pm, BT Sport 3 CHELSEA are guaranteed a place in the knockout stages of the Champions League, but with Group C rivals Roma more than likely to win their home tie with Qarabag, the Blues need to beat Atletico if they are to top the table. Meanwhile, Manchester United need only to avoid a five-goal defeat to CSKA Moscow at Old Trafford (BT Sport 2) if they are to win Group A. HISTORY LESSON Elegance and Decadence: The Age Of The Regency, 8pm, Yesterday LUCY WORSLEY throws herself into this three-part account of the Regency, dressing up in period garb and introducing every topic with showbiz enthusiasm. Her first is the Prince Regent and his portrayal in both cartoons (buffoon) and official portraits (hero). BRITISH COMEDY Mindhorn, Amazon Prime JULIAN BARRATT plays a washed-up actor still clinging
to his long-lost prime as an Eighties TV detective in this affectionate film spoof. When a real-life crime is committed, he has a shot at personal and professional redemption. UNWELCOME VISITORS Invasion! With Sam Willis, 9pm, BBC4 HISTORIAN Sam Willis takes the long view in this chirpy new series, going beyond 1066 and the Battle of Britain to explore Roman, Saxon and Viking invasions. He also interprets the word in a nonmilitary sense, looking at the advance of glaciers, farmers
with new techniques, etc. ANIMALS ATTACK Zoo, 9pm, Pick THE Freeview premiere of this barmy U.S. blockbuster series, in which animals suddenly turn against humans. Kristen Connolly (pictured) plays the reporter who is convinced it all has something to do with pesticides, and joins up with a quirky veterinary pathologist (Revolution’s Billy Burke) to investigate. FILM THRILLER Detour, 9.50pm, Sky Premiere BRITISH thriller from director Christopher Smith (Creep, Triangle). Tye Sheridan, Emory Cohen and Bel Powley take a road trip to Las Vegas, with money and murder in mind. DARK SITCOM Sick Note, 10pm, Sky One THE best line so far in Sky’s cancer comedy comes before the opening credits, when a nurse compares a devastating medical condition to something unexpected. The person with the condition is Ash — the only one who can unmask Daniel (Rupert Grint) as a liar, so we are told. Is he, though? What about his gaming pal?
