Mobile bid rejected

-

A JUDGE has thrown out challenges that threatened to delay an auction of UK mobile airwaves.

Claims made by EE, owned by BT, and Three were dismissed yesterday by Mr Justice Green at the High Court.

Both argued a limit set by telecoms watchdog Ofcom on how much spectrum one company could own was unfair. Spectrum is needed by mobile companies for carrying data, used to make calls and download web pages.

BT has the most spectrum but Green said the 37pc cap proposed by Ofcom was reasonable.

Three says it will appeal against the verdict.
