(Man City cheered United’s Cup KO)

- By JACK GAUGHAN

MANCHESTER CITY stars revelled in Bristol City’s shock Carabao Cup win over Manchester United during their Christmas party. Pep Guardiola’s men were enjoying a lavish bash with 500 members of staff at swanky city centre bar Menagerie on Wednesday night. Sources have told Sportsmail that huge cheers could be heard shortly after Korey Smith’s injury-time volley knocked out United. The rivalry has intensified this season, with players and staff clashing in the tunnel after City won 2-1 at Old Trafford earlier this month. Jose Mourinho was hit on the head with an empty water bottle while City coach Mikel Arteta suffered a cut to his forehead in the melee and needed butterfly stitches. However, the FA announced yesterday that neither club would be punished. Mourinho also escaped with a warning over his pre-match comments about City making tactical fouls.
