Gel is dynamite for impotence

MOVE over, Viagra – men can now use a gel made from the explosive nitroglycerin to make them dynamite in bed.

The treatment has been found to work more quickly than Viagra to tackle erectile dysfunction.

Thousands of British patients already take nitroglycerin in pills or a spray to treat angina, without realising its power to turn them into a sex bomb.

But now it has been incorporated into a gel, a pea-sized blob of which is applied to relax the muscles that increase blood flow to the genitals.

A trial of 232 men found it can work in five minutes – up to 12 times faster than Viagra, according to a study by University College London Hospitals published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine.

Just under a quarter showed a significant improvement in sexual function.

Three million Viagra prescriptions a year are made in Britain. But at less than £1 a day, the gel is a cheap alternative.
