Apple told to curb kids’ tech addiction
AppLe has been urged to tackle iphone addiction among children by two major investors amid growing fears that social media is harming the next generation.
The investors, who collectively control £1.47billion of Apple shares, told the company in an open letter to do more to protect youngsters from becoming hooked on gadgets, such as allowing time limits to be imposed on devices.
The intervention, from New York-based Jana partners and a california teachers’ pension fund, comes amid alarm at how electronic devices are affecting children’s health and development. Apple did not responded to a request for comment.
