Right royal hint that Helena IS the next Margaret in The Crown
Royal role: Miss Kirby as Margaret ONE plays the Queen’s glamorous sister in hit TV series The Crown, while the other is rumoured to be next in line.
So is this cosy snap of Vanessa Kirby and Helena Bonham Carter proof that the 51year-old star will soon be playing Princess Margaret?
The pair further fuelled rumours that Miss Bonham Carter will be taking over as an older version of Margaret after 29year-old Miss Kirby shared a selfie of them in an unknown location on Satur- day. Miss Kirby simply captioned the snap with the words ‘ Honoured @ thecrownnetflix’.
Delighted fans were quick to seize on the post as proof that Miss Bonham Carter will appear alongside Olivia Colman – who the Daily Mail revealed last year will be taking over the role of the Queen from Claire Foy – in series three.
It is certainly not Miss Bonham Carter’s
first royal role. She won a Bafta for playing the Queen Mother in The King’s Speech in 2011. The cast of the awardwinning Netflix series is being replaced every two seasons for authenticity as the action moves to the later years of the Royals’ lives. Miss Kirby has said she is ‘gutted’ to be relinquishing the role of Margaret, and in November joked she was so ‘desperate’ to continue that she was willing to ‘smoke a million cigarettes in real life to age myself’.
