Blue Peter’s bling badge for its 60th

BLUE Peter has launched a diamondshaped badge to celebrate its 60th anniversary later this year.

During its 5,000th show yesterday, presenters revealed the sparkling design, pictured, which for the first time since the coveted badge was launched 55 years ago is not in the shape of a shield.

To earn it, young fans must complete a list of tasks, which includes speaking to family members about their memories of Blue Peter. Designer Henry Holland said: ‘As it is in honour of the diamond year I wanted to reflect this, creating something extra special.’

The show, which airs on CBBC, will celebrate its anniversary on October 16.
