HALL IS HERO FOR LEEDS

-

RYAN HALL scored twice as Leeds overcame tough opposition away at Warrington to power to a 16-12 win on the opening evening of Super League. Leeds, who played under new captain Kallum Watkins for the first time, raced into the lead thanks to tries from Jamie Jones-Buchanan, the rampaging Hall and a Watkins penalty goal. Warrington began to claw their way back into the game and it was debutant Bryson Goodwin who crossed and converted his own try to make it 12-6 to Leeds at the break. Hall got his brace after the interval and it was enough to keep Warrington at bay, despite Tom Lineham’s score. Elsewhere, Hull FC ran riot against Huddersfield, with Fetuli Talanoa scoring a hat-trick in a 38-12 win.
