Action on arrogance

-

I AM shocked at the arrogant comments in the House of Lords aimed at those who voted Leave.

The Government seems unable to reduce the size of this non-elected body, so why not reduce the daily allowance from £300 to £100, inclusive of travel and other expenses.

This would discourage those who attend solely to benefit from the financial reward.

D. S. HARDY, Bangor, Co. Down. LOOKING at the ages of the peers trying to stop Brexit negates the argument of blaming the older generation for voting Leave.

J. WILSON, Rotherham, S. Yorks. IF WE are to continue to have a second chamber, it must be dramatically reduced and elections held to represent the views of the people.

The current House of Lords consists of failed politicians, peers with plenty to say but who have never been elected and those who have paid for the privilege. That’s not democracy A. J. CARTWRIGHT, Chelmsford, Essex.
