Advice just won’t wash

-

THE experts who advise we wash tea towels every day (Good Health) must never have had to pay a water or energy bill.

Just how is all this washing to be dried when the sun does not shine in February? Are we expected to use energy-sapping tumble dryers (when they are not catching fire) or drape damp washing on radiators, making our homes damp?

Those on water meters, people living in the country without mains drainage and families struggling to pay the bills will have to take their chances with all the nasties on their tea towels.

Before the days of washing machines, children developed a healthy resilience to bugs. If we try to produce a sanitised environment, we will end up increasing allergies.
