MelISSa O’NeIll is a primary mary school teacher who lives in east Dulwich, South-east london.

She has been divorced for just over two years after a 12-year marriage. She doesn’t have any children — but does spend her working days with a class of four- and five-year-olds.

Working mostly with women, she finds it hard to meet prospective romantic partners.

She loves dancing and is also studying for a degree in astrology, so would love to make a spiritual connection! YOUR THREE BEST QUALITIES? I’m kind, considerate and a good listener — which makes me a good teacher but, I think, a good partner, too! WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR IN A PARTNER? Someone considerate who doesn’t take life too seriously, a person with whom I can share my dreams and aspirations and have lots of new adventures. WHAT MAKES YOU SMILE IN A MAN? Nice eyes and not being afraid to make a fool of themselves. laughter is a wonderful aphrodisiac. FAVOURITE THING ABOUT FALLING IN LOVE? When you can’t stop thinking about them and have all those lovely feelings in your stomach. There’s nothing like it. WORST THING ABOUT DATING? Messaging someone online for ages, then meeting in real life to realise you don’t fancy them at all. I have lots of lovely male friends, but I really want to feel a spark. DREADED MOMENT ON A DATE? When someone isn’t enthusiastic about something I really love. HOW MANY SINGLE VALENTINE’S DAYS? This will be two . . . unless my perfect Valentine writes in! FIVE WAYS TO DESCRIBE YOU? Open to ideas, adventurous, artistic, peaceful and spiritual.

KATHI, 60

KaThI ellIOT is a fitness instructor who lives in Reading, Berkshire. She has been divorced for ten years after a marriage of 31 years. She loves walking, cycling and stand-up paddle-boarding and says she will keep a date on his toes.

Finding her Valentine could be a tall order — she is 5ft 10in (6ft in high heels) and would like a man to look up to. YOUR THREE BEST QUALITIES? My wit, kindness and positivity. WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR IN A PARTNER? The male version of me! Someone who is funny, articulate and intelligent. They don’t have to be super-fit, but I’d prefer someone who likes looking after himself. WHAT MAKES YOU SMILE IN A MAN? a shared sense of humour — and someone taller than me! FAVOURITE THING ABOUT FALLING IN LOVE? I love my life, but it would be nice to share some of the good times. WORST THING ABOUT DATING? Time-wasting men who aren’t really interested in a relationship. DREADED MOMENT ON A DATE? Being asked too many searching questions! Usually, I say: ‘Tell me all about yourself’, so I can sit back and find out all about them.

One guy turned up with a little moustache that wasn’t on his online pictures, only to tell me it was to cover up the fact he had no top teeth! HOW MANY SINGLE VALENTINE’S DAYS? This is my fourth, although I have been dating over the past few years. FIVE WAYS TO DESCRIBE YOU? happy, self- sufficient, low-maintenance, optimistic and intelligent.

SARAH, 39

SaRah SpINDley is a solicitor who lives in leicester. Sarah had a long-term relationship in her early 20s, but has been single for a number of years.

a book-lover, she enjoys trying new things: her hobbies include meditation, belly dancing, knitting and juggling.

My sense of humour, being a good listener and my thoughtfulness. I like to do nice things for people I love. WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR IN A PARTNER? Someone playful, curious and caring. I would like to find someone to try new things with; someone independent and fun. having a nice smile would go a long way, too! WHAT MAKES YOU SMILE ABOUT A MAN? Catching them doing something kind. It’s the little things, rather than big gestures, that make someone attractive. FAVOURITE THING ABOUT FALLING IN LOVE? having conversations that go on for hours about random things and never wanting to stop talking. WORST THING ABOUT DATING? When you build up hope from lots of messaging, only to find they are nothing like you imagined! DREADED MOMENT ON A DATE? I hate being asked: ‘What’s your favourite movie?’ I never know what to say. But I like looking out for those moments in conversation that reveal a bit of their personality. HOW MANY SINGLE VALENTINE’S DAYS? Six. Maybe there is someone special out there to make sure it’s not seven! FIVE WAYS TO DESCRIBE YOU? Funny, quirky, caring, loyal, determined.
