Second chance at life

-

I AGREE that you can start a new life after a long marriage (Femail). I was married for 41 years when at the age of 60 I left my husband.

My marriage had not been good for a few years, and I felt I was being put down all the time. I walked out one Sunday morning not knowing where I was going.

I started a new life in a small town, rented a flat, and after lots of hard work, 16 years down the line, I have a lovely home, a gentleman friend I see at the weekend and am friends with my former husband.

Life can work for you if you really want it to, and it is never too late.

I married as a teenager and never had much confidence, but my selfbelief has grown so much since I have lived on my own. C. A. AshCroFT, ilkley, W. yorks. I AM appalled that adultery is proposed for people who are disillusioned with their marriage.

Instead of breaking up, what is needed is the desire and willingness to be there for your partner and to make life better and happier for them. You should also make them aware of their failings. After all, it is in giving that we receive. KEViN DELENEy, hook, hants.
