The twin cuties who’ve been little stars since they were 6 weeks old

- By Lucy Laing

IT takes most actors years to get their careers off the ground.

There are countless rejections, thousands of lines to memorise and an unsteady income to top it all off.

But identical twins Poppy and Tabitha were just six weeks old when the job offers started rolling in.

The twins, now two, began with modelling and TV work – and it wasn’t long before they were rubbing shoulders with A-listers Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth in the film Bridget Jones’s Baby.

Their mother Anna Miller, a teacher, said: ‘When we meet people they are surprised to hear they are film stars as they are only two years old. It’s not your usual thing.

‘But the twins absolutely love what they do. They adore being in front of the camera. I’ll keep on doing it as long as they enjoy it.’

They are now signed with five agencies, and have also starred in TV adverts, including for toy brand Tomy, online payment system PayPal and baby brands Bibetta and Joie. Their parents have even appeared alongside them in some of their roles.

Mrs Miller, who lives in Chelmsford, Essex, was thrilled when she found out she was pregnant with the girls as she had always wanted to have twins. Poppy and Tabitha were born in August 2015 weighing just 4lbs each.

A few weeks later, their mother rang an agent who supplies baby models for the BBC One TV drama Call the Midwife. Mrs Miller, 37, said: ‘A midwife who had run an antenatal group had suggested it before the twins were even born. So when they arrived, I decided to make some enquiries.’

At six weeks old, Poppy and Tabitha made their TV debut on the show, appearing in two episodes. Mrs Miller said: ‘It was so much fun. We had four days filming and the twins were so good. They were only allowed to be on set for a few hours at a time, and the cast didn’t mind if they cried as it adds to the authenticity. There were trained midwives on set all the time and it was a really relaxed atmosphere.

‘Tabitha would film in the morning and Poppy in the afternoon. It was incredibly exciting and it got me hooked.’ Their next role was in BBC drama Dickensian, before Bridget Jones in October 2015.

Mrs Miller said: ‘ I couldn’t believe it when they got the part of playing the baby of Bridget’s best friend Jude. You can’t get much bigger than that. They were Bridget’s goddaughter, so Renee had to hold them both, and she was absolutely lovely with them. I asked her if she was happy with babies and she said that she was, that she had nieces and nephews herself. Shirley Henderson, who plays Jude, had to pass Poppy to Renee and I was right there with her, every step of the way.’

Mrs Miller, whose husband Tristan, 47, is a marine loss adjuster, added: ‘Colin Firth had a cuddle with her too, which was lovely.’
