IT WASN’T just the French men who were celebrating on Saturday. The women’s team also beat their English counterparts, but the striking aspect of it was the support they had in Grenoble. The crowd of 17,434 at the Stade des Alpes was reportedly a world record for a women’s fixture and there were jubilant scenes at the end. Even the visitors appreciated the magnitude of the occasion for their sport.
