readers will know I don’t have much time for PC snowflakery, but the heineken ad that was pulled yesterday struck even me as being way off the mark.
It portrayed a bottle of lager sliding along a bar, bypassing two black women and a black musician, before alighting in front of a much paler girl — with the tagline ‘sometimes lighter is better’.
some critics say they did it on purpose to create a controversy, on the principle that all publicity is good publicity. I think they have just disproved that theory.
