YOUR GUIDE TO THE NEW BOYS...
LIAM LIVINGSTONE
FORMER England coach Andy Flower says Liam Livingstone (below) hits the ball as hard as any batsman he has seen. Just ask the bowlers of Caldy CC: in 2015, Livingstone smashed them for 350 in 138 balls while playing for Nantwich. He failed to impress during two Twenty20 games against South Africa last summer, but the hierarchy are excited by his potential.
JACK LEACH
SOMERSET fans have been pushing for Leach’s inclusion in the Test team for a while — and with a first-class record of 185 wickets at 25 apiece, their enthusiasm is justified. Some say his slow leftarmers have been unduly assisted by Taunton’s spinning pitch, but he keeps taking wickets, and he has tweaked his action after it was found to have an illegal kink in 2016.
