Step into a bathing

-

IS CLAMBERING over the side of a standard bath becoming a concern? One way you can make your home life easier this spring is to swap your standard bath for one with a low access door, so that there is only a small step to negotiate. If you still need some help, a transfer bench, leg-lifter or optional built-in bath lift can help make getting into the bath even easier. Low doors can make all the difference. However, they are not built for taking your weight, so it is best not to lean on them. And it might also be worth looking at a bathing solution that has no doors and barely any step. A walk-in shower is so-called because it has a very low edge to the shower tray, so you can walk in and out freely. If you are worried about having to support yourself while showering, a drop-down seat and grab rail will help keep you steady. You could also opt to keep your old bath, but use an inflatable bath cushion or a retractable belt lift to enter it more easily. Both will lower you gently in and out of the water at the press of a button.
