Hotline set up for Korean leaders
NORTH and South Korea have installed the first ever telephone hotline between their leaders as they prepare for a rare summit next week.
South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un plan to hold their first telephone conversation sometime before their faceto-face meeting next Friday at the border truce village of Panmunjom.
Describing the new line, a South Korean presidential official said: ‘The connection was smooth and the voice quality was very good. It was like calling the next door.’
A separate summit between Kim and US President Donald Trump is anticipated in May or June.
