PR tycoon Freud splits with actress 22 years his junior

-

BRITAIN’S wealthiest public relations man is back on the market. Matthew Freud, great grand son of psycho analysis founder Sigmund, has split up with Janet Montgomery, an actress 22 years his junior.

‘They are no longer together,’ a friend confirms.

Freud, 54, who has an estimated fortune of £ 163 million, started squiring Montgomery just days after his heiress ex-wife, Elisabeth Murdoch, remarried last summer.

Janet, who played a love interest of King Arthur in the children’s drama Merlin and appeared in several U.S. series including Entourage, is on holiday in Thailand.

‘I am traveling alone, for personal growth,’ she says.

News of her relationship with the son of late broadcaster Sir Clement Freud came after Matthew’s second wife, media magnate’s daughter Elisabeth Murdoch, 49, tied the knot with Turner Prizewinning artist Keith Tyson, 48, in an opulent do at Elisabeth’s home near Burford in the Cotswolds. Before meeting Janet, Freud had enjoyed a brief relationship with heiress Jemima Goldsmith, sister of Tory MP Zac and daughter of late billionaire Sir James.

His marriage to Elisabeth, with whom he has two children, broke down in 2014, 13 years after they married at Blenheim Palace.

It only emerged during the divorce proceedings that Freud had secretly fathered a love child more than two years before.
