Melania has kidney surgery

FIRST Lady Melania Trump underwent a surgical procedure to treat a benign kidney condition yesterday, her office announced.

The embolisation procedure, which cuts off blood flow to a tumour or other growth, was ‘successful’ and the 48-year-old will remain at a military hospital in Maryland for the rest of the week, the White House said.

Mrs Trump had tweeted a day before the procedure – posting a Mother’s Day message to her 10 million followers on Sunday. Donald Trump was expected to visit his wife at the hospital last night, an official said.
