BID BACKED Shareholde­rs at City trading firm Nex Group have voted for a £3.9bn takeover bid by Chicago’s CME Group.

The deal was backed by more than three-quarters of investors, including Nex’s billionair­e founder Michael Spencer, who has a 17pc stake and stands to pocket £670m.

If it goes through, investment banks, lawyers and other advisers on the cash and shares tie-up will net fees worth up to £110m.
