EVERY FLOWER TOLD A STORY
THE stunning floral arrangement of Meghan’s bouquet contained forget-me-nots — Diana, Princess of Wales’s favourite flowers — along with stems hand-picked by Harry from their private garden at Kensington Palace.
It was arranged by ‘queen of London florists’, Philippa Craddock, who was also behind the impressive display that decorated the walls and pillars of St George’s Chapel.
The bouquet also featured astilbe, symbolising patience and dedication to a loved one, and lily-of-the-valley, which is meant to reflect sweetness and the return of happiness.
The whole thing was finished with an ivory satin ribbon — a softer, less formal way of holding the arrangement together than wires.
Meghan’s bouquet has been placed on the tomb of the Unknown Warrior in Westminster Abbey — a tradition started in 1923 by the Queen Mother, whose brother Fergus died at the Battle of Loos in 1915.
