How does he do it? At 74, Jumpin’ Jack Flash is still f lying high!
WITH his gyrating hips and rubbery features, he bounded on to the pop scene 55 years ago.
And for Sir Mick Jagger, it seems, time is on his side – as he has changed little since.
He may look more craggy – especially without the benefits of stage make-up – but as the Rolling Stones kicked off their European tour the 74-year- old proved he still has all the moves.
However, observers noticed that on stage his face appeared far less wrinkly than it had when he was spotted days earlier at a cricket match in Dublin.
Dressed in a metallic striped jacket, polka dot shirt and black skinny jeans, the singer leapt about the stage at the London Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Fellow Stones Keith Richards, 74, Ronnie Wood, 70 and Charlie Watts, 76, were happy to stay mostly in the background as they belted out hits including Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Brown Sugar, Paint It Black, Honky Tonk Women and Satisfaction.
Sir Mick, who is said to cover up to 12 miles during a show, puts himself through rigorous training in order to maintain the stamina of a man half his age. The father of eight, who can still boast a 28in waist, works out five or six times a week.
He has taken up antigravity yoga, in which devotees suspend themselves 6ft in the air in a hammock, using it like a trapeze to support their body weight as they perform exercises.
Sir Mick runs about eight miles a day and also swims, cycles and kick-boxes.
The gig, the Stones’ first London show for five years, was the opener for the latest 12- date leg of their No Filter tour, which takes in Germany, France, Poland and the Czech Republic as well as seven UK concerts.
