4 Cut down fast food and processed foods high in fat, starches or sugars such as ready meals, snacks, desserts and sweets 5 Stay away from alcohol, which is linked to six cancers 6 Drink mostly water and unsweetene­d beverages

7 No more than three portions of red meat a week. Eat little, if any, processed meat

8 Avoid supplement­s – use diet alone to meet nutritiona­l needs

9 Breastfeed­ing your baby is good for mother and child

10 Follow the recommenda­tions if diagnosed with cancer too (after checking with your doctor) PS Experts also warned against smoking and too much sun but said it was common knowledge.
