A bathroom that works well for you

-

CLIMBING into an ordinary bath can be an uphill battle in later life. But a walk-in bath or shower with low access can restore bathing confidence and safety. There are plenty of ways to personalise your choice, so that you end up with a luxurious bathing solution that looks the opposite of institutional — and that you’ll feel very proud to show off. Mixer showers, for example, include models that stay cool to the touch, eliminating the risk of scalding. For an extra touch of luxury, a large, rain shower head can be installed in addition to the handset and switched to with an easy, push-button control. If your preference is for a walk-in bath, these come in full-length or sit-up versions, with a front or side door that opens inwards or outward. Luxurious options include a spa system that produces massaging bubbles, and chromotherapy lighting within the bath. Prefer to do something simple with the bath you already have? A bath lift in the form of a belt that sits furled in a unit fixed to the wall and then pulls out across the tub to form a seat to lower you into the water on, is easily installed and will allow you to recline as usual.
