Doctor tells of fear for Skripals
A DOCTOR who treated poisoned Russian ex-spy Sergei Skripal (pictured) and his daughter Yulia has said he did not think they would live. Intensive care consultant Dr Stephen Jukes said: ‘When we first were aware this was a nerve agent we were expecting them not to survive ... all the evidence was there that they would not survive.’
Another doctor at Salisbury District Hospital said the attempted assassination was like nothing he could have imagined in his ‘wildest imagination’.
Medics at the hospital told tonight’s BBC Newsnight about the extraordinary events following the Skripals being rushed in after being found unconscious from the effects of the military nerve agent novichok. Moscow has repeatedly denied responsibility for the attack.
