Pooch and a pint for Guinness heir tying the knot...
BREWING heir Arthur Guinness didn’t miss a trick when he married the founder of fashion label, Shrimps, at the weekend.
Tying the knot with 28-year-old Hannah Weiland, whose father is Mr Bean director, Paul Weiland, Arthur, 27, turned the Grade I-listed Belcombe Court in Bradford-on-Avon into a makeshift pub by erecting a sign reading ‘The Arthur’s Arms’ above the door.
They also had their own ‘wedding coat of arms’ designed by Anna Chancellor’s daughter, Poppy, featuring a shrimp and a pint of Guinness.
Guests included former Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman, model Laura Bailey and Love Actually director Richard Curtis accompanied by his partner, Emma Freud.
Also in attendance was one of the Duchess of Cambridge’s favourite designers, Penelope Chilvers, who noted that it was ‘a first to see dogs in the congregation’. That dog was the couple’s poodle, Lionel McGruff, whose curly locks inspired Hannah’s brightly coloured fauxfur creations championed by Kate Moss.
After the nuptials, for which the bride designed her own high-neck dress, guests drank Black Velvets — a cocktail of stout and champagne — before playing petanque.
