Radio 2 ‘horrifyingly jaunty’, says R4 host

It’s not usual BBC practice to castigate your colleagues, but Radio 4’s Jane Garvey, the presenter of Woman’s Hour, has never been shy of speaking her mind.

‘It’s that kind of horrifying jauntiness of Radio 2 that sometimes just makes me feel quite bilious,’ she tells a podcast. ‘It’s one of the really good things about being on Radio 4. Life is bloody difficult for a lot of people. If you’re on Radio 2, God love you, you can’t acknowledge any of that.
