LOPETEGUI TO BE NEXT REAL COACH

-

REAL MADRID have appointed Spain manager Julen Lopetegui as their new head coach on a three-year deal.

The 51-year-old will take up the position following the World Cup after Real agreed to pay the Spanish FA €2million (£1.7m) in compensation.

Lopetegui managed Porto for two years, before taking the Spain job in July 2016.

His arrival raises the prospect of Real making another move for Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea, who has an excellent relationship with the Spain manager.

The futures of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale will also be high on his agenda, with both linked with moves away from the club.
