Taser seized from primary school pupil
A 50,000-volt Taser stun-gun was confiscated by police after a pupil smuggled it into primary school.
Teachers are believed to have found the weapon, which can deliver a fatal electric shock, in a child’s school bag.
Police were called to the unnamed school in the Swale district of Kent and officers took the Taser away.
It was one of 110 offensive weapons seized in Kent schools during the past three years, which included air guns and many types of knives.
Local resident Craig Hendry, of Sittingbourne, said: ‘It is absolutely terrifying that a taser gun was found in a primary school.’
Detective Susie Harper said: ‘We work closely with both schools and pupils to provide information around the risk of carrying weapons.’
