House price rise sees semis soar
SEMI-detached homes have outperformed other property types to see the strongest price growth over the past year.
According to official figures, semi-detached homes rose on average by 5.3pc in the year to April to £214,717. Prices of detached homes increased by 3.8pc to reach £342,154 on average, while terraced homes rose 4.7pc to £184,304.
The figures show the smallest increase of all property types was among flats and maisonettes, which increased 1pc to £202,052.
