House price rise sees semis soar

SEMI-de­tached homes have out­per­formed other prop­erty types to see the strong­est price growth over the past year.

Ac­cord­ing to of­fi­cial fig­ures, semi-de­tached homes rose on av­er­age by 5.3pc in the year to April to £214,717. Prices of de­tached homes in­creased by 3.8pc to reach £342,154 on av­er­age, while ter­raced homes rose 4.7pc to £184,304.

The fig­ures show the smallest in­crease of all prop­erty types was among flats and maisonettes, which in­creased 1pc to £202,052.
