Biffa boss quits after 8 years
BIFFA boss Ian Wakelin is to step down after nearly eight years leading the waste management firm.
The chief executive will be replaced by chief financial officer Michael Topham, who has been in the role since 2013.
But Wakelin will remain as chief executive until a successor has been appointed for Topham.
Details of the change came as Biffa reported a 32.2pc rise in profits to £59.6m for the year to March 30. Revenue rose 8.8pc to £977.7m.
Ken Lever, chairman of Biffa, said Wakelin can feel ‘extremely proud of what he has achieved’.
