PELLEGRINI PAL IS NEW WEST HAM TRANSFER CHIEF
WEST HAM yesterday named Mario Husillos as their new director of football and handed the 59-year-old Argentine full control of player recruitment. The move is a victory for manager Manuel Pellegrini, who is close to Husillos after the two worked together at Malaga. Co-chairman David Sullivan, who has long been in charge of transfers, will now take a back seat after Husillos signed a three-year contract. Joe Hart, on loan at West Ham last season, is attracting interest from French club Nice. Manchester City are willing to sell the keeper in a cutprice deal. West Ham are in talks with Toulouse over a £26million move for defender Issa Diop and a deal worth up to £20m for Swansea’s Alfie Mawson.
WEST BROM will reject a £25m double bid from Burnley for Jay Rodriguez (right) and Craig Dawson. Albion expect to lose a number of players, but hope to sell for a better price. They have also turned down a £4m bid from Stoke for James McClean. Salomon Rondon can leave for his buy-out clause of £16.5m, with Newcastle favourites.
