LOOK at what companies do, not what their bosses say. That is a good rule of thumb when assessing any corporate action, and one worth applying to Airbus right now.

The chief operating officer of its commercial division, Tom Williams, has just given this warning about the UK’s future relationship with the EU: ‘Put simply, a no-deal scenario directly threatens Airbus’s future in the UK… When we look at the next generation of wings, which is called “Wing of the Future’, we are working on that today in development in the UK and clearly now we are seriously considering whether we should continue that development or find alternative solutions.’ Airbus’s frustra
