The hi-tech clues that hint partner is cheating

- Daily Mail Reporter

FORGET lipstick on the collar – if your partner switches off their phone at night, keeps their laptop password a secret and suddenly ‘quits’ social media for no reason, they may well be having an affair.

Researchers carried out a poll to discover the modern telltale signs that their other half might be hiding a secret.

Applying fake tan regularly, wearing a new perfume or aftershave and regular nights out with new friends or colleagues from work emerged as key indicators that your loved one might be straying.

Unexplained bank transactions, archiving text messages and your partner updating their

style also made the cheat list. But one top clue cited by 44 per cent of respondents was if their loved-one received calls and texts in the middle of the night.

Perhaps surprisingly, six per cent said someone having an affair tends to want more sex with their partner, while seven per cent of those polled said they realised their other half was ‘playing away’ when they started eating foods they wouldn’t have tried before.

The poll of 1,000 Britons, commissioned by film company eOne, found a quarter admit cheating – and 85 per cent said being generally secretive about phones or laptops is always a dead giveaway.

Some 79 per cent would have no qualms about checking their partner’s phone. However, 13 per cent would happily turn a blind eye to their loved one’s cheating ways if it was making their own relationship better.
